I swapped sunny Portugal for gothic England in 1988 because my dream was to work in the music industry as a sound engineer. But my plans changed, so I ended up studying literature and working as an executive assistant to finance my studies. The goal was to become a writer like … Stephen King or Seamus Heaney. In my spare time I do a lot of reading, writing, listening to music, crochet, sewing and spoiling my dog Bonscott (yes, ACDC fan).

Mental health is an area that fascinates me. I dedicate time doing courses online and watching Youtube videos with experts explaining anything connected to the mind. My favourite is probably Gabor Mate. I feel very passionate about men’s mental health because of men in my family and friends. It’s not hard to help women and girls, but men is a different ball game which I’m willing to learn. I love challenges and am dedicated to learning and growing.
